3rd "Island Cleanup and BBQ"
Looking for a unique summertime family experience while doing your part for the environment?
Well look no further!
Organized by the Stewardship Assoc & the SMB Chamber to help beautify our little slice of heaven, a series of "Island Cleanup" trips are being planned for the summer months to take volunteers out to various islands in the Bay, do a general cleanup of the island, and to relax and enjoy a "family" style barbeque/picnic right on the beach!
The first one was Jul 16th on Lukes Island.
The second was Aug 15th on Troop Island.
The next one is planned for Troop Island (again) Sunday, Sep 19th. If you have a boat, or know friends or family that have one, why not plan a fun day out on the water and assist in doing something good for the Bay. If you don't have a boat - call us!
The core group will arrive at the beach by 10am and plan to stay till around 1pm. Private boats can come and go whenever they wish, but we will have a group of volunteer boats which will be available for the pre-set times.
