3rd Community Forum "Vision to Reality " - Apr 16-17, 2010

The 3rd Community Forum is scheduled for Apr 16th & 17th, once again to be held at St. Luke's Church.

As in the past, all community groups and associations are being asked to have delegates in attendance, but all members of the public are invited to attend.

Facilitated by the Stewardship Assoc. and the St. Margaret’s Bay’s Chamber and Tourism Associations, this Forum will mark the culmination of 3 years of planning and community consultation and present a draft village plan to guide growth and development in the Upper Tantallon (at the Crossroads) area.

2nd Community Forum Report

The following draft report is the result of the 2nd Community Forum "At the Crossroads: Visioning  a Village", held Mar 27-28, 2009 at St. Luke's Church in Upper Tantallon. This, in its present form, was presented to Counilors Rankin and Lund at a luncheon held on May 8th, with a request that HRM Western Regional Council endorse the report and present it, as a basis for re-zoning the village, to HRM planners. The next process will be to meet with the HRM planners to determine next steps in the 'visioning' process and how to continue from here.




1st Communty Forum Position Paper

As a result of the first community forum, held Mar 2008, the following Position Paper was produced. It has been utilized successfully to move HRM's planning for Districts 22 and 23 forward to 2009, and was also key to having council pass an addendum to the Land Use Bylaws requiring any MU zoned developement having a building over 7500  sq ft required to go through a community based public hearing (an interim step toward changing the bylaw itself).
